"Elected" focuses on the issue of racism in governance within the atmosphere of a university. The play revolves around Mohan, a bright young Tamil student,and his campaign to run for student council president in an educational institution. At first, Mohan seems to have a good chance of winning.
However, the spark of racism ignited by another candidate unleashes a wildfire that threatens not just Mohan's campaign, but his life. Will Mohan be able to surmount discrimination and oppression to win the election? Or will the oppressors succeed in silencing him?

Boal had the brilliant idea of allowing the audience to stop, modify and change the course of his drama performances; enhancing the overall experience of everyone involved in a novel manner. Today, this particular branch of theatre is known as Forum Theater (FT).
